1138 SE Madison St Portland Oregon - current location of AltSource Inc

This house didn't last long. The warehouse that stands there today was built in 1923. Recently remodeled into offices for AltSource Inc.

William Laidlaw house formerly on Belmont Street in Portland Oregon

Sadly the top is cropped off but this gives you a sense of the scale and grand presence the house once had. I am unsure of the date of it's demolition but the apartments that replaced it were built in 1976. Some of that wonderful basalt stone wall remain but not on the side facing Belmont.

3253 SE Taylor St in it's original form

The house survives pretty much as it was though someone removed the Ionic capitals and replaced them with a more craftsman top. Also some railing alterations. Taken before the construction of the house next door in 1923.

Early view of 4025 SE Yamhill St in Portland

A nice view of 4023 SE Yamhill Street. The house was built in 1906. Also a decent portion of it's neighbors (4017-4019 SE Yamhill and 4033 SE Yamhill). Wonderful cast concrete retaining wall which also still remains.

Another fun find. Pretty much the same today!

Wonderfully preserved 4124 SE Yamhill Street in Portland

I've always admired this house and I walked past it quite often on my route to the mail box by St Stephens and the bank. At an estate sale today there was a pile of old photo post cards for $1 each. I figured it was cool and it sure looked like that house. Well it was! The owners recently stripped off all of it's fake siding and the house is SPECTACULAR!!!!  I'll add an after shot the next time the weather is nice.

The original house that was Jarra's Ethopian Restaurant and is now the Langano Apartments

I bought this at a local estate sale and just had a feeling it was Portland. I could make out the original address which was 591. Fortunately there is a key word searchable database where you can plug it in and get the current post 1930's address. Less than 10 address into my search I was able to determine that this house was formerly 591 E Hawthorne Avenue. It was changed to 1435 SE Hawthorne Blvd. Compare those brackets, windows, and chimneys and you've got it! Razed for the Langano Apartments but heavily altered before that.

The cabinet photo is mine and the other images are Google street view.
